Poetry

Not Now

Holding off valid thoughts,

waiting another day,

to speak our truth, proclaim our love

Not now, never now, the day will soon come

Delaying what must be said,

Words that hold an urgency that is not recognised,

Actions that must occur,

Emotions must be displayed

Before its too late and you’ve made a mistake

Not Now, Never Now, You wait and wait

Hold the pen

Let the ink set on the page,

Utter the word that must be said

Do what must be done

Before all the time has gone,

Not Now, Never Now, You continue to delay

Until your too late

As you sit at the wake

With the burden of your mistake

Not Now

Not Ever

My Love, It’s too late
