Summer Glow

I look out the window

The rays of sunshine

Highlighting all God’s beauty

The flowers have bloomed

The fruit is ripe

The kids are laughing

And the ice cream melts

Dripping down on the hot busy sidewalk

As the ants gather on the black tarmac

Clustering to taste the sweet creamy liquid of summer

The shorts have come out

And all the family gather around

And I think to myself

The world ain’t all that bad
